Washington, D.C. — [Feb. 25, 2026] — The American Weather Enterprise Association (AWEA) today announced its first member organizations, marking a major step toward building a unified voice for the Weather Enterprise—the vast network of government, private sector, and academic organizations that work together to generate and communicate weather information to protect lives and bolster the economy.

AWEA’s inaugural members are:

  • Accenture Federal Services

  • Baron Weather

  • Booz Allen Hamilton

  • Lynker

  • Mantari

  • Nexus Weather & Climate

  • Science & Technology Corporation

  • The Weather Company

  • WindBorne Systems

These organizations are representative of the strength and innovation of a mission-critical enterprise that delivers around-the-clock forecasts, warnings, and decision support used every day by countless businesses, government agencies, communities, and individuals across the country and around the world.

AWEA was created as a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization to advocate for priorities and policies that advance forecasting capabilities; optimize the contributions of government, industry, and academia; and promote a strong weather enterprise workforce prepared for the societal challenges of tomorrow. Nearly one-third of the U.S. economy is sensitive to weather and AWEA is already increasing awareness of just how valuable the Enterprise is to the nation.

“The U.S. Weather Enterprise has a remarkable story to tell of the public, private, and academic sectors collaborating over many decades to deliver increasingly accurate and timely forecasts that save lives and inform decision-making across every industry,” said AWEA Executive Director Doug Hilderbrand. “Yet there is still much more work to be done. By ensuring that improved forecast accuracy, lead time, and communication remains a national priority, we can further reduce deaths and damage in communities impacted by extreme weather and drive better decisions across all economic sectors.”

AWEA welcomes participation from businesses of all sizes, established companies and startups, nonprofits, academic institutions, and weather-dependent businesses and organizations. Members guide the association’s advocacy priorities. Membership offers access to greater influence, exclusive marketing opportunities, and partnerships that elevate both individual organizations and the Enterprise as a whole.

Organizations interested in learning more about membership opportunities are encouraged to connect with AWEA to help shape the future of the enterprise.
